• I’m available for discussion via phone, Skype, or—whenever possible—in person, to help you clarify your ideas and figure out how to proceed.

 • Whether it’s a proposal, a manuscript, or even just rough notes, I will read what you send me and write a thorough memo outlining what I see as the major issues. This can range from big-picture and even project-altering comments (for example, if I discover what I think is your true subject on the last page of the story, and think you should start over with that) to more specific matters of style, logic, and structure.

 • I will do substantial edits for both style and substance until you have a manuscript that’s ready to go, whether it’s to an agent, a magazine, a website, or a self-publishing enterprise.
